The first co-production of the SNT Drama Ljubljana and the SNT Opera and Ballet Ljubljana will present one of the most famous operas of the 20th century. Admittedly, it is not a proper opera, nor a parody of classical opera, but a unique blend of drama and music theatre which has established a genre in its own right: Weill and Brecht’s The Threepenny Opera. It has been staged frequently and universally, also at the Ljubljana Drama by almost every generation of outstanding actors who can sing Weill. And Drama has them these days as well.
