Domen Novak graduated in stage acting in the class of Professors Branko Jordan and Jernej Lorenci. During his studies, he co-founded with his classmates an innovative theatre-devising artistic collective, Počemučka. So far, they have presented two projects: Piano and screaming, produced by the AGRFT, and Under construction, co-produced by Glej Theatre and the AGRFT; the latter was awarded a special prize at the 53rd Slovenian Drama Week Festival for its inventive fusion of different theatrical languages. After his graduation, Novak made his debut in Schnitzler’s The Lonely Way, directed by Dorian Šilec Petek) at the Ljubljana City Theatre, and in the international co-production Prometheus’22, directed by Gábor Tompa at the SNT Drama Ljubljana. He has also appeared in film and television roles, including a youth feature film Let Him Be a Basketball Player 2, directed by Boris Bezić, in Anže Grčar’s graduation film And the Night Remained, and in Barbara Zemljič’s short film This is How I Learnt to Hang the Laundry.
