Two small crippled figures, Lum and Purl Schweitzke, contemporary Vladimir and Estragon, are searching for the meaning of life. They realise that the only thing worth living for is having a child together, however they cannot influence their destiny as their lives have already been determined by the author. Who can make their wish come true? They are visited by various media, fictional and historical characters, each of them revealing their own story and pain. The Process Director offers them the possibility of sending short messages into space with the help of an apparatus.
