Polona Juh completed her secondary education at the Secondary School of Education and at the Conservatory of Ballet, Ljubljana and then pursued her studies in stage acting in the class of Professors Štefka Drolc and Dušan Jovanović. During her studies, she appeared in several prominent roles in various Slovenian theatres and has been a member of the SNT Drama Ljubljana resident ensemble since 1994. She is an actress of outstanding focus and never fails to fascinate with her stage presence and in-depth approach to acting. When exploring a character, she is guided by a great sense for the synthesis of each role, in classical and contemporary plays likewise. She is an original erudite among actors. One of her particularly memorable roles is Hanako in The Visit by Mishima. Austrian reviewers praised her Hanako, »an exotic creature with mysterious aura, childlike charm and playful madness«. Her rich and diverse oeuvre displays mainly title and leading roles of the drama repertoire and she is the recipient of numerous awards and accolades, including the Prešeren Fund Award, four Borštnik Awards and several film awards. She is a leading lady of the ensemble who creates outstanding characters also in films, animated films and on television, and often makes a relevant contribution to the art programme of the Slovenian national radio due to her distinctive voice.
