Dušan Jovanović, director and playwright with enviable creative oeuvre, a man considering nothing that is human to be alien to him and Milena Župančič’s life companion dedicated his book Na stara leta sem vzljubil svojo mamo (In my old age I’ve grown to love my mother) to himself and to important others in his life. On the one hand, these people are his contemporary artistic colleagues and cultural and political icons known around the world, such as Rade Šerbedžija, Brigitte Bardot, Silvio Berluscon, and on the other, people from the author’s intimate sphere. Individual portraits interlace with author’s childhood memories, growing-up, military service, professional and family life. The book by Dušan Jovanović therefore forms a collage of impressions and personal experience, but at the same time openly discusses the author’s attitude towards most various topical and timeless subject matters.

You are cordially invited to join us on Monday, 5th November at 6 p.m in Drama Kavarna for the presentation of the book Na stara leta sem vzljubil svojo mamo. Dušan shall navigate through the memories of various events and individuals that have marked his course of life in the company of Manca Košir. The extracts from the book shall be interpreted by Gregor Baković, member of the SNG Drama Ljubljana ensemble.
