Kaja Petrovič graduated in Acting from the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana in 2026. She studied under the mentorship of Jernej Lorenci and Branko Jordan, and completed her studies under the mentorship of Nina Rajić Kranjac and Branko Šturbej. During her studies, she participated in numerous theatre and film projects and explored various approaches to acting and creative work. In 2024, she took part in the 26th International Meeting of Theatre Schools in Corsica, led by Samuli Nordberg. On screen, she has appeared in the series Gospod professor (Professor, Sir), in short student films, and in 2026 in the feature film S pogledom na morje (Seaview), which is due to be released in 2027.

She has received numerous awards for her work, including three student Zlatolaska awards: for ensemble acting in the production QR KODA (2023), for a leading role in Ay, Carmela! (2024), and for a leading role in the film Nikomur ne povej (Don’t Tell Anyone) (2025). Her other accolades include the Sever Student Award for her role as Carmela in Ay, Carmela!, the ZIZ Festival Acting Award for Krik: Vrzeli (The Scream: Gaps), the Award for Best Acting in a Student Film at the KRAFFT Festival for Črepinje so za srečo (Shards Bring Luck), and the Jury Award for Outstanding Artistic Achievement at the FUGA Festival in Koper for her roles as Brenda and David in Jaz, David (I, David) (2026).

Her artistic practice is rooted in an exploration of an individual acting language, physical expressivity, and intuitive approaches to character creation. She is drawn to contemporary and experimental theatre practices, performance, dance, and storytelling. She understands theatre as a space of freedom, discovery, and continual artistic inquiry.
