The 24th International Festival of Chamber Theatre Golden Lion in Umag, Croatia, closed with the award ceremony. The festival jury composed of Mirna Farkaš (Chair), Slavica Renko and Tarita Štokovac awarded the Golden Lion to the production of Every Brilliant Thing by contemporary British playwright Duncan Macmillan, directed by Nataša Barbara Gračner and starring Uroš Fürst who also translated the play.

As the jury stated, “engaging in an interactive play of numbers and reminiscences of the most important moments of life, Uroš Fürst tackles one of the most common mental illnesses of our time, depression. Devoid of any soppiness, the production of Every Brilliant Thing breaks down barriers and prejudices and shows the way to find help. Not only does Fürst address mental health and problems but manages to change attitudes towards this illness by involving the audience, showing them how small, seemingly banal things like dancing, ice cream or pancakes can change a person’s perception. Fürst gave the audience not only a brilliant staging, but also a belief in a better tomorrow.”
