The SNT Drama Ljubljana is accepting applications for a new group of participants in the language and culture programme Road to Drama for the 2025/26 season. Join us on a year-long journey into the world of theatre arts aimed at deeper engagement and involvement in the field of culture.
The programme runs from January to October 2026 and includes approximately 14 meetings (two per month). Registration is open until 16 January 2026, or until all places are filled. Register at potvdramo@drama.si. The price of the program is €150, €130 for students.
What does the programme offer?
Road to Drama combines theatre attendance, in-depth discussions, and four hands-on creative workshops.
- Performances and discussions
Participants will attend three selected productions at the SNT Drama Ljubljana, followed by post-show discussions focusing on the themes, staging, and theatrical form of each performance. To support deeper understanding, participants will receive a short written introduction prior to each viewing. - Creative workshops
– The creative power of directing with theatre director Luka Marcen: an introduction to the basic principles of theatre directing through practical and improvisational exercises.
– Acting, body, voice, and speech with leading ensemble member Marko Mandić on developing fundamental acting skills through a holistic approach.
– Creating the vocal dramaturgy of a theatre performance with theatre language consultant Tatjana Stanič: exploring how oral delivery and speech aesthetic shape theatrical experience through guided exercises.
- Memorisation techniques with theatre and film actor and multiple national memory champion Nik Škrlec:
learning mnemonic methods that connect mind, body, and imagination, and support effective text memorisation. - Group reading
Two sessions dedicated to elocution and intonation practice, as well as a deeper exploration of plays and other texts, in collaboration with dramaturg Luna Pentek. - Museum visit
A guided and “active” visit to the Slovenian Theatre Museum, including practical activities related to the current exhibition. - Final event
In July 2026, participants will apply the skills and techniques acquired during the programme in a final presentation, sharing reflections on Slovenian art and culture.
