Two afternoons in March will be dedicated to readings of poetry by Kajetan Kovič, a poet, author and translator who wrote both for adults and children. Kovič was a Slovenian classic who authored one of the most important and brilliantly accomplished body of poetic work that continues to enjoy wide popularity. His friend Ciril Zlobec said that Kovič »combined with elegance the best and most vital traditions of world and Slovenian literature, while at the same time he was always open to the future. He possessed elegance of style, sensuality of language, originality of metaphor, and he introduced the landscape of northern Slovenia into Slovenian poetry.«
