Mr. Schuster Buys a Street

Goethe-Institute Ljubljana, SNT Drama Ljubljana, Department of Translation, Department of German Studies (Faculty of Arts), and Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (AGRFT) invite you to an evening of new German drama. Ulrike Syha, the author of critically and publicly acclaimed play Private Life, presented on the Small Stage in 2010 (directed by Ivana Djilas, winning the Maribor Theatre Festival Award for direction), has returned to Slovenia in the capacity of Goethe-Institute writer in residence. To mark the occasion she has selected a number of texts that have strongly resonated in German theatre world in recent years (D. Busch, D. Gieselmann, K. Handle, C. Brandau, M. Obexer, S. M. Salzmann, S. Berg, U. Syha). Students of the Faculty of Arts departments will translate the texts under Irena Samide’s supervision for AGRFT students who will present a stage reading, supervised by Ulrike Syha and directed by Maša Pelko. The conversation following the staged reading will be held in German. Do not miss this unique co-production, offering an original insight into contemporary German drama.

Join us on Monday, 14 November at 20.00 at the Small Stage venue. Free admission.
