The first production of adaptation of Vojnović’s novel Yugoslavia, My Country, directed by Ivica Buljan, will take place on Saturday, 11 April, at 20.00.

Theatre lacks stories dealing with the present, the world we live in, says director Ivica Buljan and explains that Vojnović’s Yugoslavia is an epic drama and the Yugoslavia in the title is not a country, the former SFRY nor the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, but rather some sort of Atlantis, Fargo, an illusion of an imaginary country. We, however, need to find what Yugoslavia means to us.

On Wednesday, April 8, at 17.00, on the Main Stage of Drama Goran Vojnović, author of the novel and adaptation, will talk to the artists about their quest for this fictional place that goes beyond nostalgia.
