Great Russia dramatist of the second half of the 19th century to the half of the 20th century becomes paradoxically one of the most performed and contemporary authors – and that stage remains up to the present days. His plays used to be presented like melodramatic stories, but new period and experience of life uncovered some brand new originally comical and grotesque dimensions. The three sisters are likewise: tragic feelings are experienced by people – men and women – who miss tragic greatness; all of them are drifted with illusions about themselves. Also their personal tragedies are somehow banal, bizarre and absurd. They are retracted from illusions to disillusions and their love and relishes are chained in unsatisfied and irreversible tries and relations as we are renounced – and apparently rightly – that their exalted feelings are just games of fake love. In spite of hoping of leaving their hopeless province and going somewhere far away, to the capital city Moscow, they comes to terms with living where they are. Women are sorry for themselves and men become sad clowns.
